Obituary of Joshua (Josh) Lee Campbell

August 2, 1979 - Calgary, Alberta

October 10, 2021 - Calgary, Alberta

Joshua Lee Campbell of Calgary, AB, passed away suddenly of heart disease on Sunday, October 10, 2021 at the age of 42 years.

Josh was born in Calgary, AB, on August 2, 1979. He moved to the farm near Beiseker, AB in 1985 and attended Acme School for elementary school and part of junior high school. In 1992 he moved back to Calgary and after high school obtained his business degree at Devry University. He met Jessie Wallace and in 2012 their son Jack was born. Soon after Jack’s birth, Josh attended SAIT in Calgary and became a power engineer. He worked at Husky Sunrise until his passing. He bought a home in Calgary and created a loving, stable home for the love of his life, his son Jack. Josh was an avid hunter and enjoyed many years of hunting adventures with his Grandpa Steinmann. He loved being outdoors and often hiked with his aunts. He cared deeply about his family, and his wit and humour entertained us all at family events.

Josh is survived by his son Jack, Jack’s mother Jessie Wallace of Nanton, and his parents, Christine Thurn of BC, and Timothy and Jennifer Campbell of Calgary. Josh is also survived by his siblings, Justin Thurn (Taylor) of BC, Emily Campbell (Matt) of Calgary, Damon Thurn of Calgary, Harry Campbell (Kristel) of Calgary, Emma Chambers (Jesse) of BC, and Tom Campbell (Halle) of Calgary; and his grandparents, Joanne Campbell, and Barbara and Anton Steinmann of Calgary; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.  Joshua was predeceased by his grandfather Robert W. Campbell.
