Obituary of Giovanni Petrollini
March 11, 1929 – Sessano, Del Molise Provincia Isernia, Italy
October 15, 2021– Calgary, Alberta
Giovanni Petrollini beloved husband of Maria Petrollini for 68 years, passed away on Friday, October 15, 2021, at the age of 92 years.
Giovanni was born in Sessano, Del Molise Provincia Isernia, Italy on March 11, 1929. He moved to Calgary, Alberta, Canada in 1957. Giovanni married Maria Petrollini on December 20, 1953. He enjoyed family times and had a passion for gardening, especially his tomatoes. Giovanni’s most memorable vacation was when he and Maria revisited Italy.
Giovanni is survived by his sons Robert Petrollini of Calgary and Mario Petrollini of Airdrie. Daughters in law Wanda Hallborg of Airdrie and Sirikan Nokkaew (Kaew) of Thailand. Brother Domenico Petrollini of Edmonton. Sisters in law Lucy Ciccaglione, Ida Petrollini, Christina Ciccaglione, and Antonietta D’Ippolito of Calgary. Brother-in-law Carmen Valerio and Mike Ciccaglione of Calgary. Giovanni will also be lovingly remembered by numerous Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, and Friends. He was predeceased by his beloved wife Maria, parents, Antonia Tella and Michael Petrollini, parents-in-law, Giovanni and Julia Ciccaglione; brother Nicola Petrollini, sisters, Amelia Valerio, and Lucia Iafrancesco, brothers-in-law, Carmen Ciccaglione, Carmine D’Ippolito, and Antonio Iafrancesco; sister-in-law Eleanor Petrollini, and nephew Donato Iafrancesco.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. James Catholic Church (5504 – 20th Street S.W., Calgary, AB) on Wednesday, October 20, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. Graveside Service to follow at Queen's Park Mausoleum. Those attending will be asked to confirm one of the following, (A) COVID vaccination (date requested), OR (B) a negative COVID test (within 72 hours), OR (C) Medical exemption AND valid government identification (with name & date of birth) OR (D) Under 12 years of age.
