Obituary of Tamara Nadine Felix

FELIX, Tamara “Tammie” Nadine (nee Scherger)

May 21, 1964 – High River, Alberta

October 26, 2021– Calgary Alberta

Tamara “Tammie” Felix (nee Scherger) of Calgary, AB, passed away peacefully and in her sleep on Tuesday, October 26, 2021.

Tammie's whole reason for being was Max (her son), her dogs, and her quirky, beautiful, eclectic friends. Max was, and will forever be, Tammie’s world. Tammie was so very proud of Max and the man he is becoming. She spoke of him often and loved him “to the moon”.

Tammie would have had a home filled with dogs. Her dogs filled her life with joy. Remembering Rocky, Knuckles, Teddy and Oliver made her eyes light up and brought a smile to her face. Tammie has had a diverse group of friends. Some friends came and went, some became life-long friends who were with her through both the good times and the hard times. Those same friends will be there for Max in the years to come. She loved all of you. When Tammie was younger, she didn’t simply “brighten a room with her smile”; she would make the room welcoming to everyone there, fill it with a sense of cheer, and transform it into a much livelier place to be. She had a contagious energy like no other.

Tammie loved to travel the world. She went to many exotic places including Thailand, which was her favorite destination. Later, some of her fondest memories were of the summers her, Max and one of her dogs spent at the Pine Lake trailer (aka The Sweatbox). For those of you who travelled with her, know she cherished those memories.

Today, please hug someone you love. If you are inclined raise a glass for our lost treasure, Tammie. A celebration of Tammie’s Life will be held in May 2022. Announcements to be provided later by McInnis & Holloway Funeral Homes on this page and on Facebook.

In lieu of flowers, we encourage you to make an In Memoriam donation to The War Amps (donate.waramps.ca). This charity has been chosen to honor the work Tammie did inspiring new and young amputees to walk with their prosthetics. Her remarkable positivity, determination and perseverance encouraged many to learn to walk again. Acknowledgement cards can be sent to McInnis & Holloway, Fish Creek.

Condolences, memories, and photos may be shared and viewed here.
