Obituary of Maxine & William Deschamps

DESCHAMPS, Maxine (Max)

November 14, 1949 – Calgary, Alberta

November 23, 2021 – Cochrane, Alberta

Maxine (Max) Deschamps, beloved wife of  William (Bill) Deschamps of Cochrane, Alberta, passed away on Tuesday, November 23, 2021 at the age of 72 years.

Max was a caring, thoughtful and kind wife, mother and grandmother who never missed a holiday or special occasion. Be it a gift on your birthday, treats for Halloween, Easter, Valentine’s Day and wonderful holiday dinners, no matter the occasion, she made everyone feel special.

Christmas was a very special time of year for her and she celebrated to the fullest. Even in these trying times of Covid, Max made sure to bring some holiday magic to her family by delivering a holiday feast for her son and his family to enjoy.
Even though they couldn’t celebrate together, she made it special.

Family was always very important to Max. Once retired, she and Bill left their home in Strathmore, Alberta and moved to Cochrane - this allowed them to be closer to their son Joe, his wife Sandi and their children. The move meant more opportunities to connect with the grandchildren and Max and Bill never missed an opportunity to celebrate their milestones or watch over them when Joe and Sandi needed a night out. In short, the grandkids got to experience all the generosity and kindness that made Max and Bill such wonderful people.

DESCHAMPS, William (Bill)

December 25, 1949 – Calgary, Alberta

December 10, 2021 – Calgary, Alberta

Bill Deschamps, beloved husband of Max Deschamps of Cochrane, Alberta, passed away on Friday December 10, 2021 at the age of 71 years.

Bill was an old-school, hard-working, generous man who cared deeply for his wife and son and always made sure they were provided for. While his career as a welding inspector paid the bills, his interests ranged from hunting and fishing to automotives and carpentry and beyond. He owned a cabin in Buck Lake, Alberta where he and Max would often spend time taking in some peace and quiet while making new friendships.
Bill also possessed a unique jack-of-all trades quality - there was rarely a problem he couldn’t fix (and was always more then happy to do so).

There was no more solid fixture in Bill’s life than Max. Together since the age of 16, the two were high-school sweethearts who, while growing old together, never grew apart.

While it is with deep sadness we must say good-bye, our hearts feel full with the joy of having had these wonderful people in our lives.
