October 13, 1931 – Crammond, Alberta

November 25, 2021 – Calgary, Alberta

The family of Clifford Thomas Runham mourns his passing on Thursday, November 25, 2021, at the age of 90 years, when he went to be with our mom, Edna.

Cliff was born in Crammond, AB and passed at his home in Gleichen, AB. The Runham’s spent many years on the farm in Mara, BC. Cliff was born a farmer, an entrepreneur, and a fixer. His skill was in keeping equipment running and things working. His last accomplishment was fixing up his little house in Gleichen. “It was the coziest place he ever lived”.

During his life, Cliff accomplished many things. As a young man, he enlisted in the Canadian Army and was trained as a paratrooper. He was in line for his vaccines to go overseas when it was announced that the Korean war was over. He didn’t ever see action and went on to do many other things throughout his life. Some of which included hauling gravel, hauling trailers from the USA to Canada, wrapping pipe, owning a car lot, running a café, fixing batteries, mining exploration, hauling Federal mail, as well as having a farm with beef and dairy cows, pigs, and even ostriches. He was a man of many talents.

Cliff leaves behind his sister Eileen Obenauer, sister-in-law Shirley Runham, son Robert (Yvette) Greenlay, daughters Lisa Baraniuk and Grace (Alexander) Schouten; Grandsons Ryan Baraniuk, Nicolas (Tori) Baraniuk, and Taron Schouten; and was blessed with several great-grandchildren. He will also be remembered by numerous nieces and nephews. All of his grandchildren meant the world to him and kept him going at times.

His final wishes were to forgo a service and be laid to rest in Alto Reste Cemetery in Red Deer, AB, with his wife Edna and his parents, Ernest and Sarah Runham, and visit the mountains one last time.

In living memory of Clifford Runham, a tree will be planted in the Ann & Sandy Cross Conservation Area by McInnis & Holloway Funeral Homes,, Fish Creek, 14441 Bannister Road SE, Calgary, Ab t2x 3j3, Telephone: 403-256-9575.
