Obituary of Gitte Kuhr Jasinsky

September 9, 1962 – Manitouwadge, Ontario

December 15, 2021 – Airdrie, Alberta

Gitte Jasinsky (nee Jensen), beloved wife of Cornel Jasinsky, of Airdrie, AB, passed away on Wednesday, December 15, 2021, at the age of 59 years.

Gitte graduated from Sudbury Business College with her Bookkeeping degree, leading her to work at the Canadian Revenue Agency, Mercedes Benz Sudbury, Laking Toyota and Tremblay Bookkeeping. She was very task-driven and detail-oriented. She always found a way to boost employee morale through her great sense of humour, her smile and contagious laughter. Gitte was always known for her great morale booster ideas which would help people through their day. She will always be remembered for her giving nature, as she always brought in special baked treats for her colleagues at important times of the year. Gitte was also a member of Women of Harley (Sudbury) and Women on Wheels (Sudbury).

Gitte lived life to the fullest and encouraged her friends to do the same. Gitte loved riding her motorcycle, and when she was not riding, she would be planning her next trip. She loved getting people together for motorcycle road trips, shopping at consignment stores with friends, and having people around her that enjoyed her sense of humour. Most of all, Gitte enjoyed the little things in life such as spending time with her family, her cats, Ms. Hemi and Cali, and Peter's dog, Oslo.

Gitte was extremely proud of her son Peter and everything he did. She was exceptionally proud of his Brock University Teaching Diploma, Laurentian University Undergraduate Diploma, and St. Benedict High School French Immersion Diploma. Gitte had many achievements, but she was the proudest of her motorcycle license because she could enjoy the fresh air and mind-clearing abilities. Another proud moment was when she joined the CRA team, as she always knew she could work for a government organization.

Gitte had a passion for planning, travelling and financial literacy. Gitte enjoyed planning detailed vacations and spending them with friends and family. She helped her friends and colleagues organize and make sense of their money. Also, Gitte loved having friends around her, and she could be remembered for her incredible themed parties. Gitte always enjoyed making new friends and was not afraid to start a conversation wherever she went. She had a passion for making sure everyone had a good time and made sure everyone had enough coffee or wine in their glass.

Gitte had a passion for travelling and could always be planning her family's next trip. Gitte had memorable vacations every year but her most memorable vacation was when she and her husband went to China in 2015 to visit their son, who was teaching English there. She really enjoyed celebrating the Asian culture, cuisine and exploring landmarks with her family. She will be most remembered for her genuine love of life, her laugh, her smile and her one-of-a-kind personality.

Besides her loving husband, Gitte is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Peter Jasinsky and Jennifer Kasprowicz, of Canmore, AB; her mother, Ruby Jensen of Alliston, ON; and her brother, Erik Jensen. Gitte was predeceased by her father, Christopher Jensen.
