Obituary of Terry Lea Kleeberger

April 6, 1958 – Claresholm, Alberta

The family of Terry Kleeberger is sad to announce her passing at the age of 63 years.

Terry endured a life of physical disabilities and developmental delay, but her sweet and pure soul always came shining through.  She laughed loud and often.  We were blessed with her great sense of humour, which was evident even with her limited vocabulary.  The last few years were difficult for Terry after suffering a terrible wheelchair accident and then a stroke a year later.  Without words, she was still able to communicate her love to those around her.  Her “Terry hugs” were the best!  She loved cats, dogs, bowling, car rides, Christmas, the Calgary Stampede and when she was able, coffee, burgers and diet Coke.  In her earlier years, she had many friends through Calgary Community Living Society.

Of all the Kleeberger sisters, she was the best of us.

Terry leaves to mourn, her mother Lorraine Bryant, her most dedicated supporter, advocate, friend and companion. She also leaves to mourn her sister, Reta McPhail (Bruce); nieces, Robyn Ashkin (Brad), Lauren Davis (Andrew), Jacquelyn McPhail (Parker Howden), nephew Daryll Melnychuk; great-nieces, Harper and Maya Ashkin and Kinsley Howden; and nephews, Cade and Burke Davis; and numerous Kleeberger cousins.  Terry was predeceased by her sister, Carmen Olson, dad Earl Kleeberger, stepmother Myrt Kleeberger, and stepdad Jim Bryant.

Terry’s family wishes to thank her caregivers, provided through Options Rehabilitation Services, as well as those caregivers through the years that became family to Terry, particularly Val Dawson.
