Obituary of Taylor Charles Jackson

Taylor Jackson of Calgary, AB, passed away on Monday, January 3, 2022 at the age of 29 years.

Taylor was born in Calgary, AB, on August 6, 1992. Taylor graduated from the University of Calgary with distinction in Chemical Engineering. Taylor accomplished much throughout his life and was particularly proud of returning to school to further his education. He was a dedicated volunteer for Alberta Animal Rescue Crew Society and eventually found his forever dog Duke, who he adopted last year. Duke and Taylor had a very special bond. 

Taylor’s passions and hobbies were plentiful, and he was always pursuing them in his free time. He loved hiking with several different groups of friends, snowboarding, recreational hockey, skating, biking; and was starting to learn French and Spanish. His most cherished hobbies were taking time to walk Duke and catching up with friends and family. Taylor was an avid reader and typically had several theoretical and analytical books on the go. He was in a book club with a couple of his close friends. He will be most remembered for his intellect, tender heart, love for animals, and willingness to be there for others when needed.

Taylor is survived by his parents, Susan and Murray Jackson; and his sister, Alexandra Jackson. He is also survived by several aunts and uncles, Lynne Buchanan, Bruce (Sylvia) Tunna, Ken Jackson, Deborah and Mike Maidens; as well as cousins, Sean (Karen), Graham and Megan Buchanan, Haley and Carson Tunna, John, Lucas (Terenia), and Peter (Liz) and Ruth Maidens.

Funeral Services will be held at McInnis & Holloway (Park Memorial, 5008 Elbow Drive SW, Calgary, AB) on Monday, January 10, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. Reception to follow in the Hospitality Centre at the Funeral Home. Those attending will be asked to provide valid government identification (with name and date of birth) AND confirm one of the following: (A)Provincial vaccine record with QR code (paper or digital); OR (B)negative COVID test (within 72 hours); or (C)valid medical exemption (signed letter); OR (D)under 12 years of age.
