Mary Elsie Soucek of Calgary, AB, passed away on Thursday, January 6, 2022, at the age of 84 years.

Elsie was born in Eastend, SK, on February 26, 1937.  Elsie graduated from the University of Calgary with a bachelor’s degree in Education, and later worked with the Calgary Board of Education.

Elsie married John in 1989. She was a member of St. Anthony’s Parish in Calgary, AB. Elsie accomplished much through her life and was particularly proud of completing her Bachelor of Education.

Elsie enjoyed spending her time playing a game of golf or tennis, gardening, crocheting, reading, engaging in politics and learning about her genealogy. Elsie’s most memorable vacations were when she and her husband John would take golfing road trips. She will be most remembered for her persistence and determination.

I have finished the race,

I have kept the faith.”
