Celebration of Life
Condolences
One of oldest memories of Gary is meeting him at Christina's 16th birthday party. As he held his old video camera (the one with the VHS tape) and recorded me singing to Christina. I was singing "Happy Birthday" to her in the same way Marilyn Monroe sang it to Kennedy. He thought it was so funny. For years he would laugh when he told me about me singing the song and said he was going to pull out that tape one day. Eventually technology changed so much I wasn't sure he had anywhere to play it. I have many, many other memories with him, but I thought I would share my first memory.
During our teenage years Gary and Gay were a big part of my life. They gave me a safe place to stay and always made me feel welcomed. Gary made such an impact on everyone he met and if you were someone that could make him smile you really felt that energy from him. I truly loved Gary and will miss him deeply. xoxo
Patti and I are so sad to hear of Gary's passing. We have many fond memories of being welcomed into his and Gay's home with Chrissy and family for dinners, birthday parties, and special occasions. A generous, witty, and kind man who is gone far too soon. His legacy will live on through his daughters and grandkids though, he provided a guiding light to them that will never dim. Warm thoughts too all who will miss him. Love, Mike Shannon and Patti Proud.
