Obituary of Walter Ronald Foltz

Walter "Wally" Ronald Foltz passed away peacefully Wednesday, January 12, 2022. He was born February 21, 1934, in Berlin, Germany, to Sylvia (nee Davidson) and Walter Erich Karl Foltz. After his father’s premature death, Wally and his mother moved to Amsterdam, Holland, to be near relatives and lived there during WWII. In 1952, Wally immigrated to Canada. He lived there or in the U.S. for the rest of his life. In 1968, he married Anne Steckelberg in Denver, Colorado. Wally is survived by his wife, Anne, and cousin, Dennis Rees, of Okanagan Falls, B.C.

Wally and Anne enjoyed many happy hours hiking and backpacking in their beloved Rocky Mountains. His hobby was collecting stamps, and he was a member of the Calgary Philatelic Society for many years.

Wally’s life will be celebrated at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Parks and Wilderness Society in Wally’s name. Condolences, memories, and photos may be shared and viewed here.
