Obituary of Emma Victoria Zimmerman

Emma Zimmerman (nee Hergert), beloved wife of Harry Zimmerman, of Calgary, AB, passed away on Wednesday, January 12, 2022, at the age of 92 years.

Emma was born in Castor, AB, on November 6, 1929. She moved to Calgary, AB in 1936 as a child and lived in Bridgeland until marrying her love Harry in 1952. They celebrated 67 years of marriage together. She was very involved with the Lutheran Ladies Aid for many years being part of Mt. Calgary Lutheran Church. Emma enjoyed her yard. She had a strong passion for cooking and baking, her cookies were the best. She will be most remembered for her warm personality and always having something yummy to eat when one dropped by. She was always well dressed, had perfect hair, and had a huge loving smile. She adored her three grandchildren and attending sports activities, dance recitals, school functions for all three. She was the perfect grandma.

Emma is survived by her daughter Lori (Darryl) Anderson, her son Larry (Lynn) Zimmerman, three grandchildren, Lyndsay (Kyle) Philips, Chris (Kim) Anderson, and Jamie (Mark) Brunelle; six great-grandchildren, Kaiden, Carter, Liam, Logan, Robyn, and Jordan; as well as many nieces and nephews. Emma was very loved and well respected by all. Emma was predeceased by her husband Harry in 2018, and all her siblings, George, Pauline, Victor, Daniel, Esther, Samuel, and Fred.
