Obituary of James Robert Burke

July 22, 1940 – Windsor, Ontario

January 14, 2022 – Calgary, Alberta

James “Jim” Burke, beloved husband, dad, and grandpa, sadly passed away in Calgary, AB on Friday, January 14, 2022, at the age of 81 years.

Jim was born in Windsor, ON and worked at the Ambassador Bridge until his retirement in 1995. Following his retirement, he moved to Calgary in 2000.

Jim was a proud Veteran, who served in the Canadian Navy. Serving his community was always important to Jim. He was a longtime member of the Knights of Columbus and volunteered at St. Patrick’s Church and the Father Lacombe Care Centre.

Jim was kind and thoughtful and loved to laugh and always had a joke to share to brighten your day. He loved to spend time at the cabin whether it was enjoying the beautiful sunsets at Buffalo Lake, walking the dogs or just relaxing in the sunshine.

Jim was an avid hockey fan cheering on the Detroit Red Wings and the Calgary Flames.
