Giuseppina Rizzuto

Obituary of Giuseppina Rizzuto

January 31, 1933 - Sartano Cosenza, Calabria, Italy

January 17, 2022 - Calgary, Alberta

Giuseppina (Pina) Rizzuto, of Calgary, AB, passed away on Monday, January 17, 2022, at the age of 88 years.

Pina was born in Sartano Cosenza, Italy and married her husband Angelino in 1951. Together with their children they immigrated to Canada in 1957.

Mom was a very caring, hardworking, loving person. She was a good listener and had a heart of gold. She would go out of her way to make everyone feel comfortable and would offer her delicious home cooking to everyone she met. Mom’s meatballs and pizza were number one, a favorite of all her family and friends. She took pride in her homemade meals and was kind enough to share with all.

She loved her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Other then cooking, she enjoyed taking care of the lovely flowers in her garden and helping Dad in his greenhouse.

She will be sadly missed by her family and will forever remain in our hearts.

Bella Mamma

Pina will be sadly missed by her children, Elena (Guy) Johnson, Giovanni (Maria) Rizzuto, and Maria (Victor) Sousa; her grandchildren, Jeremiah (Jenna) Johnson, Stephanie Stewart, Angelo (Laura) Rizzuto, Tony Sousa (Bailey Noel), and Annette Sousa (Carmine Marra); her great-grandchildren, Sloan and Jade Johnson, James, Emilia and Gabriella Stewart, Olivia, Giovanni, Anthony Rizzuto, and Giulianna Marra. Pina is also survived by her three brothers, Gino (Carmelina) Cesario, Frank (Anna) Cesario, and Carmen Cesario; her two sisters-in-law Carolina Trotta, and Lucia Cesario, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
