Obituary of Brigitte Adam

December 21, 1943 – Berlin, Germany

January 18, 2022 - Calgary, Alberta

Brigitte Adam, of Calgary, AB, passed away on Tuesday, January 18, 2022, at the age of 78 years.

Brigitte was born in Berlin, Germany on December 21, 1943. She moved to Canada as a teenager where she met her husband Fred who she later married in November of 1969. She was a Cub Scout Leader and a starting member of the BPAC, where she made many lifelong friends over the forty plus years, she was involved with them. Brigitte accomplished much through her life and was particularly proud of her children and grandchildren. 

Brigitte enjoyed family get togethers and going for coffee with her BPAC friends.  She always kept herself busy, whether it was moving furniture, painting, yard work or fixing her car – there was not much she couldn’t do. Brigitte’s most memorable vacations was when she went to Germany three times, twice with her husband and children and once with her sisters, and when she went on the Alaskan cruise in 2011.

She will be most remembered for being a strong, independent hardworking woman.

Brigitte is survived by her son, Wayne (Kristine) Adam and her daughter Tammy (Wayne) Hays, and her five grandchildren, Damon, Justin, Chase, Ryan, and Kaylie. Brigitte is also survived by her brother Bert (Karen) Lehmann, and her two sisters, Ingrid (Lyle) Schell, and Monika Sinkewicz; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

Brigitte was predeceased by her husband Fred Adam, her parents Hermann and Marianne Lehmann, her two sisters and one brother-in-law.
