Celebration of Life
Reception
Condolences
I was privileged to see Charles just before Christmas and spent four very happy weeks with him and my sister Caroline. He seemed happy to let me help with his puzzles and chat to him and divert him when he was having a difficult time. My lasting memory was of saying goodbye to him when I left to return to the UK on 11th January. “Will you come back and see me?” he asked. Sadly that was not to be but I am very glad I was able to spend some precious weeks with him and the family. He will be sadly missed by all the family, but he did live a full and very varied happy life. Charles rest in peace. Diana and family.
Charles a kind and truly honourable man.
A fitting tribute of a life well lived.
Fond memories of his visits to Yorkshire. Always interested & interesting, open & honest.
Heartfelt condolences to his loving family.
We remember him with love & thanks.

I have too many memories of Charles over the years, all either funny, serious or indifferent. He loved to talk history and I was a good listener. Occasionally we would get into serious bouts of who was right, of course Charles always was, it didn’t worry me too much as I knew something else would come up we could have a good chat about. Charles loved to fish and would often take the boys camping. Always had his lists organised with bins with what was to go where and how many. Even if it was only for 1 night. I remember when Charles got the LDC plates for Caroline as I had to put them on late at night after Caroline had gone to bed. Pitch black in the garage as didn’t want to put the light on so, had to work by torchlight. There are too many memories of Charles, I know you are in a better place, free from pain. Love you Charles R.I.P. mate. Xoxo
Dr. Charles Kybett Davies is and was unique. Humanity is diminished by his loss. Serious when necessary (an early picture has Charles wearing a Fisher-Price stethoscope for the young patients), razor sharp encyclopaedic memory, sharp witted, dry humoured, quietly brilliant, with a good word for everyone he met, he was easy to be with. A confidante with a deep well of knowledge and experience, his circle of influence ⭕️ was large and varied. His family is very special and his memory will be with us all forever. Farewell my friend. It’s been a pleasure knowing you. Jeffery & Toni Creasey & family
Dear Charles: always a class act, always genuine, always kind, always comforting and sympathetic, always loyal, always a phenomenal wordsmith, always a crazy enthusiast of cunning running/orienteering, always preposterously witty and always, always there for all of us. We shall always miss you.
What a lovely tribute, well written.
Charles was a good man and Father, I remember once on one of our fishing trips at Frencham pond, I was about eight I think, anyway we got set up and started to fish, just then a lady walked up to Charles and said, 'can I see your fishing permit' !
Well we did not one was needed so Charles says, 'it's OK , we won't catch anything I am sure', The lady smiled and said that we could carry on and went on her way.
She was just around the corner when Dad hooked into the biggest Pike I had ever seen or seen since !
There was laughter all the way home !
God speed Dad.
All my love.
James

Charlie was a remarkable unique individual incredibly brilliant. He was a great scholar and had a wicked sense of humour . His plays which he wrote and directed every year were so funny as he had staff of the hospital perform he is sadly missed I loved him
Very much and I just hope he is orienteering somewhere exciting and reading to extend his copious broad based knowledge of his already encyclopedic mind .
Caroleena and Charlie had many great adventures and as life ends on this side who knows what happens on the other side. May he rest in peace and May we all be more blessed. In our own lives having had the wonderful privilege of his wit and humour around the dinner table .
Life is very short. Live it like your last .
