Condolences
Valerie, I just learned of Brent's passing. Two offices down from mine, for many years at Enron, a buddy that was hard to forget. He was definitely a card. Loved his girls and would talk of them often. Life takes us many places, but we always remember the special ones. I'm still in shock. He was a well liked man and I can't imagine life here on earth without him. Please accept my deepest condolences. May God give you strength.

We will sure miss our neighbor and friend from across the road at Half Moon Bay. Brent was always friendly and cheerful and went out of his way to introduce us to the community when we moved in about 5 years ago.
Always good for a laugh, a story, and a glass of wine, we looked forward to crossing paths with Brent every time we headed towards the lake. Our deepest condolences to Val, Kate, Maggie and Becky - and all your family. What a huge loss for all of you, it is hard to take in.
Brent lived his life full on and out loud - loving the lake and family time, golf, winters down South, the company of neighbours and friends, conversation, and endless joking and teasing. He is a model to all of us to live our best life everyday and enjoy the moments we have.
warmly, Wayne and Glenda
Our deepest sympathies from the Hansen’s to the Ronald family. Brent, you and I had great times commiserating over our views on politics either at Canyon Meadows after a golf game or on Reception Committee meetings and shifts. Your dry humour and passion for fairness will be missed my friend!
Rest In Peace!!! Joanne and Tim
Val, Kate, Becky and Maggie,
I am so sorry to hear of Brent's passing. He was an amazing guy and I have a TON of fond memories of him -- running out of beer on the tall ship in Galapagos, meeting up in Maui on the beach while I was visiting Sam and Eunice, taking Palmer when he was a baby to Sylvan Lake, tobogganing in at Parkland, and lots of Stampede events. Brent had a dynamite laugh, wicked smile and was full of spirit. His legacy will live on through all of you. Big hugs and lots of love to your whole family.
Love Jenn
Please accept my deepest condolences - I'm very sorry to hear of Brent's passing. He had such a kind heart and was welcoming, funny and wise. Among many good memories of the time I spent with him on the Reception Committee was one evening when our band sat quietly around the table and sang him a song he requested - Wild Mountain Thyme. It was truly a special moment. I hope the heather is blooming, Brent.

Dear Val and Family,
We are very saddened to hear of Brent's passing. Throughout his life as husband, father, grandfather and friend, no doubt he has had many precious moments. May you find strength in each other in the coming days as he would want his family to have. We will miss the chats on the driveway and over the fence which always had some kind of humour for a chuckle or two.
May he Rest In Peace, Derryl, Dolores and Family
Val and family Dave and I are so sorry for your loss. Brent was a kind and generous man, with a laugh that could make your day!
Brent was a big part of what made our trip to Galapagos years ago so special. We will all always remember his sense of humour, of course, and his appreciation for the beauty around us and the people showing it to us. I also remember with fondness the genuine interest he took in our then quite young kids. He really listened to and included them. That, despite Steve scaring him half to death going over a suspension bridge!
I don't think I ever had a conversation with Brent that did not include some proud reference to one of his kids or grandkids. I hope that your memories of all your wonderful times together sustain you in this difficult time.

The Campbell clan has known Brent and family since about 1993 when they bought the McTagart place on the lake near us. We have had many years of enjoying Brent’s sense of humour and fun around fires on the beach and even on the lake ice.
Brent will be sadly missed but not forgotten in the village and around the lake.
Val and family we wish to add our condolences to those of many others

I had only know brent for a short time
We met about 5 years ago as he was a neighbour of mine at halfmoon bay
We shared many happy hours together as well as many laughs
It was always a treat to golf with him as he was always joking around and trying to get me off my game haha
Brent was one of the most humble men I had ever known. He was never one to talk about his success
I would always give him a rough time when I had drinks at his cabin . A lot of times he would bring out his cheapest wine or vodka, I would say am I not worthy of you good wine and he would say this is fine box wine from the fridge . I had the pleasure of staying at his home in Palm Springs
He said help your self to anything you want
But do not touch my expensive scotch haha
Brent had been trying to convince me to buy a place in Palm Springs the last several years so he could whoop me in golf all winter He had such a great sense of humour and a strong passion for life . Brent was truly a very good friend and I will miss our great times together . Rest In Peace my friend

I will always remember Brent for his cheerful attitude and generous hospitality, especially around Christmas when he welcomed everyone to an annual holiday social. Throughout the year he was the kind host at the cabin in Sylvan Lake, or at home. The conversation with Brent, over a glass of wine, always turned into a discussion about current affairs or his fascination with books.
Being humble and genuinely interested in people, Brent was quick to initiate conversations and attentively listen to other points of view.
I will sincerely miss our visits and intellectual chats.
I was very shocked to hear of Brent's untimely passing. I met him on a golf course in Palm Desert years ago and shared many wonderful rounds of golf . I always enjoyed his wit, graciousness and good humor.
Captain Canada. The Wee Scot. Viking Pride. And great neighbour.
Summer of 1993 two adults emerged from their family car at #9 Hummingbird Lane, rear doors opened and out tumbled three pretty energetic little girls. Thus began the "Ronald" story in our small summer village of Half Moon Bay. Brent and Val always wiling to lend a hand, to sit and visit and laugh with you, and to join in community well being. An ever so competitive man who brought his exquisite brand of sportsmanship to every event. And brought many friends, contributed to every worthy cause and left a legacy of friendship with all my Mountie friends- Brent attracted one and all to the "game" just because he was there and we all needed to witness and participate in his spectacular shenanigans, his pranks and his humour- he filled the stands.
"As long as we can love each other, and remember the feeling of love we had, we can die without ever really going away. All the memories are still there. Brent, you live on – in the hearts of everyone you have touched and nurtured while you were here. Death ends a life, not a relationship". ( book Mitch Albom)
God Bless and keep you my friend. Donald (Zaz) and Elizabeth
