Condolences
It took me a very long time to figure out what to say but there are just no words…
I will always remember Kathi’s love and dedication to all her children. She would drive the girls,Amanda and myself to countless early morning and after school skating practices and weekend competitions. Always smiling and always joking around. Always just being there for us whatever we needed wherever we needed. A memory that will always make me smile was when we were driving to a competition and Connie accidentally rolled the window up on Kathi’s hand… both not realizing it until the kids in the back pointed it out :)
I am so sorry for your loss. Sending love and thinking of you all
Adam, Cristina

So sorry to hear of Kathi's passing.
She had been such an integral part of the Castlegar Skating Club, as a supportive Mom but also a valued Volunteer on the Executive...and always ensured Ice Shows and special events were "splendid".
May your wonderful memories help, just a little, in dealing with her loss from this Earthly existence.
Corinne Postnikoff and family. ...9th. Avenue, Castlegar..
Lorne and family,
The Dooley family from Nelson is thinking of you at this tragic time. We have many fond memories of you and Kathi as a couple. With our deepest condolences,

My most heartfelt sympathies go out to the Keller and Anderson Families. I’m so sorry to hear of her passing. My thoughts and prayers are with you all. The beautiful memories of her life will never be forgotten. I so vividly recall her saving me from drowning during one of our family trips to BC when I was about 8 years old. We laughed about this a couple of years ago when we were out for dinner in North Battleford. She was such a beautiful soul! God Bless!
I am so very saddened by the passing of such a kind, compassionate and beautiful woman. I first got to learn about Kathi's beautiful soul and sense of humour when I taught Adam in KMS and then again at SHSS. We had many talks about the joys and challenges of teenagers! Years later, I also had the pleasure of teaching Taylor and Heather. Kathi was so dedicated to her family and I missed her as a neighbour when they moved to Calgary. I am thinking of Lorne, their children and their grandchildren at this incredibly difficult time. Love and hugs to all, Amanda McDonald ❣
Lorne, I am sorry to hear of your loss. I hope your happy memories will help you through this difficult time.

This so hurts to write. I’m like everyone, this is a shock. I can’t stop thinking about Kathi and all the memories.
She was so well known and loved by so many people here in Castlegar and in particular at Saint Rita’s parish. Her enthusiasm for teaching the children was an inspiration. Every Wednesday she would bake cookies for her class. She would make homemade game boards for her class. She loved and enjoyed their company.
I could sit with a cup of tea and listen for hours to the stories Kathy told ... countless times she would just make me laugh. She was the type of person who would pour out her soul to you, nothing hidden, nothing guarded, just straight out Kathi.
Lorne, Adam, Ashley, Taylor, and Heather my prayers are with you at this painful time in your lives. Hang on to each other.
Kathi will always be there with you.
All my love,
Rhonda and Dave DeLong
Lorne and family, your grieving at this time must be immense. Kathi has enriched your “family” and the world with the witness of her life - resilient, human and Catholic. During my time at St Rita’s Church in Castlegar she was my most supportive parishioner, especially in helping children to find access to a knowing of who Jesus is. With a full and grateful heart I will be offering Mass for her eternal rest and asking the Holy Spirit to comfort and heal your suffering lives at this timeMost united at this time. Most united in what you and now living through. Fr. Harry Clarke.
Dear Lorne and family. My sincere condolences to all of you. I met Kathi working at MdH School and we connected instantly. She was always so kind and generous with the students and staff and we shared many laughs. We were often treated to her delicious baking and lovingly-made quilted/sewn gifts. She was a beautiful person, inside and out, and she will be dearly missed. May you find comfort in your cherished memories, each other, and feeling her presence with you in the days ahead.
Our son Chris Walker was lucky enough to have been hosted by Kathi and her family when he played hockey in Castlegar during his grade 11 year. Kathi, Lorne, and all of the family treated him like "family" and Kathi was an amazing other mom to Chris. Having your son away from home for the first time is not easy but Kathi made it so special and was such a warm and inviting person, opening up her heart and home to him and to us. We are sending our love, prayers and strength to you all as you go through this difficult time and I know that our son, who is also an angel, will have been there to greet Katihi and to make this transition to her new home as warm and welcoming as she had made it for him so many years ago.
With much love and condolences to all of you
Ellen Walker-Matthews and Tom Matthews

My deepest sympathies to all Kathi’s family. A beautiful soul. I always loved her warm smile. Hugs to all, you are in my thoughts.
Our sincere condolences to the Anderson & Keller families. I remember babysitting Kathi & her brothers back in Battleford. Such fond memories. RIP my sweetheart.
My deepest sympathies to the entire family. What a beautiful soul she was. Words that come to mind. Gentle, kind, loving, silly, mischievous, funny and beautiful inside and out! Heaven gained another angel!
Kathi was a beautiful person inside and out. She called things as she saw them and I can still hear Wendy saying "Kathi" dragging out her name pretending to be shocked. I met Kathi and Dorene when I was looking for a babysitter for my new baby. She was the first person of all I interviewed that just asked to hold my baby. That was 42 years ago. Such a beautiful person and family. She will be missed.
