Condolences
My condolences to the family. I always will remember his giggles and he was always nice to me.
Bill Hoogstraten
Bill was one of kind and I was honoured have known
him and have enjoyed
his humour and laughter.
He started the daily Director’s meetings at Loon Lake
and supplied hats for all the guys.
Pickerel was definitely his favourite fish, and sundown
fishing with a group of was a lot of fun. When a good
sized fish was caught he would tap his boat and
declare it as a bell ringer.
After the fish were cleaned there was a nightly group
campfire with different hosts every night.
Whether it was berry picking or just sitting around in
a group Bill was funny and just great to be around and
will be missed by everyone that knew what a great guy
he was.
Wonderful Wilf (As named by Bill)
Condolences to Esther and the family. Joe remembers all the stories and what Bill contributed to the Early Birds.

Esther, Rod, Corinne, Carrie and families
Please accept by sincere condolences with the passing of Bill. With my many years as Head Professional at Country Club of The Hamptons, Bill and Esther always put a smile on my face every time they came in the pro shop door. Smiling, classy, and always a joke or sarcastic remark or two. He always made sure to remind me when my Sundog stock was low!! I had the pleasure of playing a few rounds with Bill as well, and always a good time. I enjoyed the large family gatherings for brunches and dinner and seeing the extended family as well.
Thinking of you all, he will be missed.

Esther, Rod, Corinne, Carrie and of course all of your families.
It was sure a deep breath of sadness to hear of Bills passing. Our hearts are with you especially now and as much as they have always been. Where do you start and how does one ever finish with all the wonderful memories. Bills smile and laughter is engraved in those memories. Wow how that vision and laughter sticks with you.
A tip of rum for Billy and all of you. He will be missed.

Very sorry to read of Bill's passing. I always enjoyed Bill's stories and thoughts he delivered at Early Birds and remember fondly the many campfires spent up at Sylvan where it was nearly impossible not to hear Bill's opinions on many subjects.

I was saddened and shocked to learn that Bill had passed away. My best childhood memories are the ones from all our summers at Loon Lake with the Hoogies and all of other families who would meet there each summer. I remember spending days at the beach, water skiing and “directors meetings” in the afternoon which included “wonderful Wilf” as Bill called him. Then, in the evening fishing for that amazing “steak of the lake” just as the sun went down and then gathering around the campfire after the fish were all cleaned.
So many beautiful memories. I thought a lot of Bill and remember him fondly. My deepest condolences to you Esther, Rod, Corrine, Carrie and families during this difficult time. Please know that others are keeping you in our thoughts and prayers.
Sincerely,
Kim Wildeman
