Obituary of Shirley Terakita

Shirley Terakita of Calgary, AB, passed away on Tuesday, May 17, 2022 at the age of 85 years.
Shirley was born in Vancouver in 1937 but grew up in a girl’s home in Assiniboia, SK. She left Assiniboia when she was eighteen and attended nursing school in Lethbridge. Graduating with a nursing degree in 1958, Shirley soon after met the love of her life, Sauce Terakita, and they were married in 1959. Shirley loved to read, visit the casino and spend time with her family and friends. She will be most remembered for her sense of humor.
Shirley is survived by three sons, Rick (Anne), Craig (Deb) and Gary (Lisa), many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents, husband Sauce, and three sisters.
A Celebration of Shirley’s Life will be held at McInnis & Holloway in the Hospitality Centre (Fish Creek, 14441 Bannister Road SE, Calgary, AB) on Sunday, May 29, 2022, 1:00 - 3:00 p.m. Condolences, memories, and photos may be shared and viewed here.
In living memory of Shirley Terakita, a tree will be planted in the Ann & Sandy Cross Conservation Area.
