Obituary of Eloise Killam
May 4, 1951 – Fort St. John, British Colombia
May 23, 2022 – Calgary, Alberta
Eloise Killam cherished and loved wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, friend and teacher sadly passed away on Monday, May 23, 2022 at the age of 71.
Eloise was born in Fort St. John, BC yet had the pleasure of living in many beautiful locations across the country including Whitehorse, Toronto, Calgary and Oromocto. Eloise and Glen, once married, eventually decided on Calgary, AB as their home. Together they built a life surrounded by family and friends, creating unforgettable and lasting memories.
Eloise was an incredible and marvelous preschool teacher for over 30 years. Throughout her time spent as a teacher she touched the lives of so many children, made an impact on the community and helped shape the foundation and growth of a multitude of families. She was also an avid volunteer, with different organizations over the years. She loved camping, spending summers in her favourite campgrounds. She loved walks, boardgames, holidays and family dinners. She was always one to lend a helping hand to anyone who was in need. All the while she was there for her family and friends with support, understanding, patience and love.
Eloise is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, Glen Killam; two children, Heather and Andrew; her granddaughter, Zoe; her mother Therese; her brothers and sisters, Evelyn, Lorraine, Genevieve, Marc and Albert. Eloise is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and friends.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 1:00pm on Tuesday May 31 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Parish (5340 4 St S.W.). Reception to follow at McInnis & Holloway Funeral Home (5008 Elbow Dr S.W.) Everyone who’s life was touched by Eloise are welcome to attend and celebrate the life of such a wonderful woman.
Eloise loved angels, which is fitting for in life she truly was one. Her kindness, generosity, spirit, and heart shone on everyone. She will always be remembered and held close.
