Obituary of Sandra Theresa Cress

Sandra Cress (nee Springchief) of Siksika Nation, AB passed away peacefully with her daughter Tanya by her side at the South Calgary Health Campus on Tuesday May 31, 2022. Sandra was 77 years old.
Sandra was born at the Blackfoot Hospital, Siksika Nation, AB on June 17, 1944. She spent the early years of her childhood growing up on Siksika Nation and later with the encouragement by her parents Mark and Louise Springchief, she made the move to Calgary. Sandra would spend her later years working and living in Calgary. Her strong work ethic would play a significant role in her career at Glamorgan Nursing Home where she worked for over 22 years.
She will always be remembered for her generosity and compassion for her family. Her strong sense of family was important, and she always enjoyed family meals and the sharing of stories. She also loved being a grandmother and enjoyed spending time with her only grandchild, Aurora. The time they spent together was filled with joy and happiness.
Sandra was also known for her love of animals, she adopted several pets over her lifetime, and they always held a special place in her heart.
Sandra will be dearly missed by her loving children, her son Shawn Springchief, her daughter Tanya Springchief, her son-in-law Noel Daniels, and her grandchild Aurora Daniels-Springchief, and her cat Emma.
Sandra is also survived by her sister Rose Bull Bear, brother-in-law Robert Bull Bear as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Sandra was predeceased by her parents Mark and Louise Springchief, brother John Spring Chief, sisters Josephine Weasel Head, Louise Young, Mary Louise Brass, Marilyn Bear Chief, Gladys Spring Chief.
Sandra also leaves behind extended families; Black, Poor Eagle, Duck Chief, and Running Rabbit.
Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at Holy Trinity Catholic Church (Cluny, AB) on Prior to the service on Wednesday, June 8, 2022, starting at 11:30 a.m. Funeral Mass will be held at Holy Trinity Catholic Church (Cluny, Alberta) on Wednesday, June 8, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. Condolences, memories, and photos can also be shared and viewed here.
