Obituary of Yvonne Marie Merritt

June 1, 2022 – Calgary, Alberta

Yvonne Merritt (nee Maller), beloved wife of the late Donald Merritt, of Calgary, AB, passed away on Wednesday, June 1, 2022, at the age of 84 years.

Yvonne was born in Haynes, AB, on July 22, 1937, to her parents Anna Marie and Clarence Maller. Yvonne (Bonnie) attended the Satinwood school in Haynes, AB, from grades 1 to 10. She married Don Merritt on October 19, 1985.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandma, aunt, and sister. She enjoyed traveling, golfing, darts, camping at Westward Ho with her family, and being with friends.

Yvonne is survived by her sons Joe Stenhouse (Janette) of Red Deer, AB, Kerry Stenhouse of Calgary, AB; daughter-in-law Kimberley Powell (Doug) of Leduc County, AB; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Yvonne was predeceased by her loving husband Don Merritt on May 23, 2022, as well as her sons David and Donny, and her daughter Sandy. She was also predeceased by her parents and all of her brothers and sisters.

The family would like to express their gratitude for the compassionate care provided by the staff of ward 66 at South Health Campus.

A Celebration of Yvonne’s Life will be held at a later date with family.
