Obituary of Evette Lee

LEE, Evette Elaine

August 17, 1989 – June 7, 2022

Peacefully and surrounded by loved ones, Evette Lee passed on Tuesday, June 7, 2022, in Calgary, AB at the age of 32.

Evette Lee was the first child of Freddie and Elaine Lee and sister to her younger brother Kent Lee. She loved swimming and as she grew she reached the rank of a lifeguard. Her childhood was known to be a cheerful and supportive one as she was constantly surrounded by family. She attended college at the Southern Institution of Technology (SAIT) under the culinary program. Evette got married to Cary Trinh on August 8, 2020. They dated for 10 years before they said “I Do”. Although they had no children in their lives, they were parents to an adorable dog named Nimbus.

Family was very important in Evette’s life and never one to miss a chance to gather and celebrate together with her family and extended family. Traveling the world happened often for Evette and her family. Her most memorable travel moment was vacationing in Mexico and Disney Land.

Evette loved food, and more specifically she loved her potatoes. She would often travel for food. Her memory of food was impeccable and can refer back to dishes from years before. Her curious mind and refined palate would always be searching for the next best dish. When not on food adventures, she loved to go hiking in the mountains and enjoyed being outdoors. She also loved watching movies, but horror was her favorite genre.

Evette will be remembered for her authentic and generous personality. She was giving and selfless, always caring for others and putting everyone else’s needs first. Her love and care extended to everyone around her, including all the animals in her life. Her culinary skills and love for food definitely did shine through her delicious dishes and baked goods.

Besides her loving husband Cary, Evette is survived by her father and mother, Freddie and Elaine Lee: and brother, Kent Lee.

A Celebration of Life will be held at McInnis & Holloway (Chapel of The Bells, 2720 Centre Street North, Calgary, AB), on Wednesday, June 15, 2022, at 2:00 pm.
