Obituary of Amanda Rachel Girodat

GIRODAT, Amanda Rachel

September 6, 1990 – Calgary, Alberta

June 7, 2022 – Calgary, Alberta

Our beloved daughter, Amanda Girodat, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, June 7, 2022, at the age of 31 years. Our hearts are broken. Our angel has gone to heaven. May she Rest in Peace. She will be greatly missed and forever be in our hearts.

Amanda graduated from St. Mary’s Highschool with honors; she excelled in all her studies. She then went on to work as an office administrator with Telus, Konica Minolta, and Zone 3.

She accomplished much throughout her life and was particularly proud of her Lebanese heritage, as well as her English and French background. She spent a lot of time with her Teta (Grandma), where she learned about her heritage and all the delicious foods, dances, music, and more. They traveled to Windsor, Winnipeg, North Carolina, and Mexico together.

She loved animals of all types and worked as a vet assistant while in senior High School. Over the years she had several dogs; Quincey, Lexy, Reggie, and Chase, as well as a bearded dragon named Val.

Amanda’s most memorable vacation was when the family went to Hawaii together and went on a helicopter tour over the island. She and her father also went snorkeling. She traveled with her parents to many tropical places over the years.

Amanda had many interests and passions including writing poems, art, music, theater, sports, dancing, swimming, and movies. She will be most remembered for her loving heart, empathy towards others, sense of humor, and love of life. She adored all her family and friends.

Amanda is survived by her father Shannon, mother Dianna, grandmothers Laura Habib and Edie Haavind; as well as numerous uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends. Amanda was predeceased by her grandfathers Michael Habib and Fred Haavind.
