Obituary of Zoey Katrina Dodginghorse

It is with great sadness we announce the sudden passing of our baby sister Zoey Katrina Dodginghorse on Wednesday, June 8, 2022, at the young age of 25 years.
Zoey worked for the family company Dodginghorse Security, as a table games dealer at Grey Eagle Casino. She worked in many trades, such as asbestos, roofing, and flagging. Zoey obtained numerous certificates and was a very hard worker. She participated in her traditional ways. In high school, Zoey was very active in sports and very outgoing with her peers. She made a lot of friends everywhere she went. She will always be remembered for her beautiful smile and her famous dimples.
Zoey was a loving and devoted mother to Ariel. Zoey really loved her nieces and nephews, Lucas had a special place in her heart, being her godson. Zoey was athletic, she enjoyed volleyball and basketball. She played for the Tsuut’ina Buffaloes.
She is reunited with her father Dickie James Dodginghorse, where they can rest in peace.
Zoey is survived by her baby girl Ariel Margaret Dodginghorse; her mother Marcella; her sisters, Jamie (Larry), Dixie (Lance), Katie (Kyle), Bailey (Tyler), and Kaycee; her brothers, Richard (Lola) and Zane (Sky); and her nieces and nephews, Dakota, Lucas, Rylen, Kaytin, Rose, Kason, Lakyn, Christopher, Karson, Lorilee, Lainey, and Aileen. She is also survived by her best friend Shante (Julien) and their children, R.J., Atticus, and Ellen; and childhood best friends, Karice, Rita, Nicky, Mac, Cieran, and Kayle.
Zoey was deceased with her common-law Clinton (Elmo) Sumner, predeceased by her father Dickie James Dodginghorse, maternal grandparents, Herman Roasting, and Doris Deschamps; and paternal grandparents, Richard and Ida Dodginghorse.
Wake Services will be held at the residence of Marcella Dodginghorse (263 Bullhead Road SW, Tsuut’ina Nation, AB) on Tuesday, June 14, 2022, at 4:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be celebrated at the residence of Marcella Dodginghorse (263 Bullhead Road, Tsuut’ina, AB) on Wednesday, June 15, 2022, at 12:00 p.m. Graveside Service to follow at the Family Cemetery (Tsuut’ina, Alberta).
