Bunnie (Lorraine) McCrackin

Obituary of Bunnie (Lorraine) McCrackin

September 17, 1943 – New Westminster, British Columbia

June 14, 2022 – Calgary, Alberta

Erma Lorraine (Bunnie) McCrackin (nee Hoffman), beloved wife of Dennis McCrackin, of Calgary, AB, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 14, 2022, at the age of 78 years. After living with Alzheimer’s for several years, she went home to her Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

Bunnie was born in New Westminster, BC. She was the youngest of three children. Bunnie graduated from Langley High School, having participated in softball and track. Bunnie eventually moved to Calgary for work, and it was here that she met the love of her life Dennis, at First Nazarene Church. Music was always important to Bunnie, and she sung in choir and performed solos at First Alliance Church and Southview Alliance Church. Bunnie had a lifelong passion for nature. She completed the West Coast Trail three times and was an active member of the Chinook Outdoor Club, where she often led hikes even at an advanced age.

Family was everything to Bunnie. She supported Dennis through advanced education and his career, all the while working at administrative roles in property management and later, in the oil and gas industry. She never missed a soccer game, gymnastics meet, hockey game, or wrestling meet. This support continued as she had grandchildren, and her love for them was boundless. Bunnie touched all she met with her energy, positivity, and overflowing love. Her life was a living testimony of the Love of Christ.

Bunnie is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Dennis; her daughter Lorri (Colby Faulder, Mackenzie Faulder); son Tyree and Melissa (Magnus, Peter, Lene-Marie, Ruari); and brother Charles Hoffman and wife Sharon. Bunnie was predeceased by her parents Willard and Erma Hoffman, and her brother Delbert.

A Celebration of Bunnie’s Life will be held at First Alliance Church in the Harvest Room (12345 – 40th Street S.E., Calgary, AB) on Monday, July 11, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. Reception to follow in the Atrium.
