Obituary of Gregory Wooldridge O'Neill
May 5, 1957 – Waterford, Ireland
June 14, 2022 – Calgary, Alberta
It is with a heavy heart that we announce Gregory (Greg) O’Neill, beloved husband of Stasia O’Neill (nee Duffy), loving father of James and Fiona (Joel), and proud grandad of Keira; passed away on Tuesday, June 14, 2022, at the age of 65 years. He will be sadly missed by his sisters, Anne Woulfe (Tom), Roisin Arthurs (Paul), and Marie O’Neill, as well his wider family in Ireland.
Greg was born in Waterford, Ireland on May 5, 1957. Greg married Stasia in 1981, together they emigrated from Ireland to Canada where he pursued his career in Chemical Engineering, and later graduated with his Masters Degree. Greg retired in 2018, following 40 years experience in the field. Greg cherished time spent with his family and friends and loved travelling, one of his favourite places being Oahu, Hawaii. Greg also loved travelling to Ireland, his last trip taking him back to his first home in Tramore. In Calgary, Greg enjoyed his daily walks in Fish Creek Park, with his Bernese Mountain Dog, Lucy. Greg was a talented musician (a man of many instruments) and will be sorely missed by the Calgary Irish music community.
Family and friends are invited to a Celebration of Greg’s Life at McInnis & Holloway (Fish Creek, 14441 Bannister Road SE, Calgary, AB) on Friday, June 24, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. Reception to follow in the Hospitality Centre at the Funeral Home.
