Obituary of Roy Carleton McMillan
August 1, 1930 - Dauphin, Manitoba
June 16, 2022 - Calgary, Alberta
Roy McMillan beloved husband of Phyllis McMillian (nee Todoruk) of Calgary, AB, passed away on Thursday, June 16, 2022 at the age of 91 years.
Roy was born in Dauphin, Manitoba on August 1, 1930, and moved to Calgary, Alberta, in 1972, after graduating from the Dauphin Collegiate Institute of (DCI) with a degree in Mechanic, Wood Foundry and Electrical.
Roy married the love of his life Phyllis in 1953.
Roy accomplished much through his life and was particularly proud of his teaching career with the Motive Action Training Foundation non-profit training organization. He taught mechanics to individuals for entry level positions.
Roy loved to travel and camp along the way. He stayed in many different places across Canada and the USA. Roy could fix almost anything. He was mechanically inclined and very good at building things. He took a lot of pride in his work. Roy was a historian and loved to talk politics. And most of all he loved his sweets!
He will be most remembered for his generosity and kindness. He was a good husband and family man.
Besides his loving wife, Roy is survived by his daughter in-law, Ann McMillan, of Calgary, Alberta, and his sister Doreen Bottley of Brandon, Manitoba.
Roy was predeceased by his sons, Mario and Glenn; his parents, Evelyn and Hugh; his brother Jim and sister Lori.
A memorial service will be held at McInnis & Holloway (Crowfoot, 82 Crowfoot Circle NW, Calgary, AB), on Thursday, June 23, 2022 at 10:30 a.m. Graveside Service to follow at Rocky View Garden of Peace Cemetery.
