Obituary of Gerald Desmond ADAMS

June 23, 1916 – Hardisty, Alberta September 3, 2017 – Calgary, Alberta It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved father, Gerald (Jerry) Desmond Adams on Sunday, September 3, 2017. Jerry lived his early life in Edmonton and joined the South Alberta Regiment in 1940. He was stationed in Canada and then went overseas from 1942 to 1946, serving in England, France, Holland and Germany. He rejoined the Canadian Army in 1951 and had postings in Edmonton, Calgary, Korea and London, England. He was awarded the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal and the French Legion of Honour Medal. Jerry lived to celebrate his 101st birthday and was still drinking the occasional scotch until the end. Jerry is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Judith and Peter Waldron and son and daughter-in-law, Don and Wendy Adams. Jerry was predeceased by his wife Ethel in 2006.
