Avril Ruth Mayhew, beloved wife of Roy Edward Mayhew (called Ed) of Calgary, AB, passed away on Sunday, June 19, 2022, at the age of 89 years.

Avril was born in Calgary, AB, on May 8, 1933, to parents Henry and Gladys Hansen and married Ed April 17th,1950. She enjoyed gardening, playing golf, watching the Calgary Flames, and spending time with her family. She loved her family more than anything.  It was never about her, but about her family. She will be remembered for her strength and kindness.

Avril is survived by her son Danny Roy Mayhew (Margaret) of Calgary, AB, her two daughters Diana Ruth Sauer (Ken Howell) of Red Deer, AB, and Debbie Lynn Howes (Nonnie Howes) of Calgary, AB; four grandchildren, Deanne Lynn LeBlanc, Scott Roy Mayhew, Molly Ann Mayhew, and Beth Denise Mayhew all of Calgary; and her grandchild Teagan Lynn Papp. Avril was predeceased by her parents, husband Ed, two sisters Doris Black, and Marlene Con; and three brothers, Clifford, Harold, and Howard Hansen.

Graveside Service will be held on Wednesday, June 29, 2022, at Caroline Cemetery at 1:00 p.m. Reception to follow at the Caroline Legion Branch 177, Caroline, AB. Condolences and memories can be shared at www.McInnisandHolloway.com
