Penn Manabat

Obituary of Penn Eloise Manabat

May 24, 2017 - June 21, 2022

Calgary, Alberta

Once upon a time in a magical kingdom called Calgary, Alberta lived a girl named Penn Eloise Manabat. She was born on a windy and stormy night on Wednesday, May 24, 2017, to proud parents Catherine Gulinao and Sheldon Manabat. She was loved by her older sister Paige and doggy named Pepper Potts. On Tuesday, June 21, 2022, the longest day of the year, Penn passed away peacefully to join her family in heaven.

Penn was adored by all for her strength, bravery, courage, and most of all her kindness. Her laugh was contagious and will be cherished. She was known throughout the land for eating ice cream (bubble-gum or vegan chocolate), hanging out at home cooking okonomiyaki (Japanese pancake), cookies, or pizza. Whether it was whale watching, throwing rocks in the river, neighbourhood walks, or bike rides - Penn loved going on adventures near and far. She was also an avid reader as well as a certified rock and pin collector. In five years, Penn accomplished everything on her bucket list, including meeting Cinderella in Disneyworld.

Penn wants all of her family and friends to know that she is OK, don’t you worry bout’ a thing, she is very brave, and she loves you all.

An invite-only service will be held on Thursday, June 23, 2022, followed by her Funeral Mass on Friday, June 24, 2022, at 10:30 a.m. Family and friends who are unable to attend in person are invited to join Penn’s Funeral Mass streamed live (see below) on the day of the service.
