It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Marj Smith on Friday, June 24, 2022, at the age of 90 years.

Marj was born in Saskatoon, SK on September 6, 1931, to parents Joseph and Muriel Morrow. She lived on a farm in Saskatchewan, Saskatoon, and in Regina before moving to Calgary in 1959.  In 2013 she moved to a senior's home in Okotoks where she was very active. She lived her last few years with her son Trevor and his wife Danielle in Okotoks which she enjoyed very much. Marj worked in health and oil before having a rewarding career as head secretary at Lord Beaverbrook High School for over 25 years.  She was active on the board of directors for her Midnapore condo and was in a bowling league for several years.  She loved attending the many activities of her grandchildren including ball and hockey. Marj’s passion was knitting blankets which many friends and relatives were gifted, and she was an avid puzzler.  She will forever be missed and remembered as a kind a caring person.

She is survived by her children, whom she was very devoted to, Laurie (Michael) Olson and Trevor (Danielle) Smith; her by seven grandchildren, Corinna Luedemann, Tara (Kris) Mills, Annie (Kurtis) Fofonoff, Ryan (Amanda) Olson, Kelly Smith, and Caitlyn Olson. She is also survived by her brother Dan (Lucy) Morrow; her son-in-law Peter Luedemann; her great-grandchildren, Ryley, Tyler, Amygael, Emmalee, Chloe, Olivia, Jet, and Danika; as well as numerous extended family and friends who loved her.
