Obituary of Marjorie Marianne Lefevre

July 19, 1929 – Airdrie, Alberta

July 18, 2022 - Calgary, Alberta

Marjorie (Marge) Lefevre of Calgary, AB, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 18, 2022, one day shy of her 93rd birthday.

Born in Airdrie, AB, Marge grew up on the family farm until relocating to Calgary to attend the Holy Cross Nursing School, where she established life-long friendships and graduated as a Registered Nurse in 1951. Marge always took great pride and demonstrated exceptional care in her role as a nurse, remaining actively involved in the Holy Cross Nurses Alumni Association throughout her life.

Marge met her beloved husband George while attending nursing school. They married and settled in Calgary, raising their five children in the community of Meadowlark Park. Living in her home up until a few months before her passing, Marge, one of the community’s founding members, remained a steadfast presence in Meadowlark Park for nearly 70 years.

Not only a devoted mother to her five children, Marge was also a valued mother figure to many, lovingly embraced as “Mom” by countless others. Marge always exemplified love and dedication as a sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, with family and friends being her life’s passion and joy. She always made time for everyone.

Her generosity extending beyond her time, she was always willing to give to many charities and causes close to her heart. Throughout her life, Marge also took great enjoyment in traveling with her friends and family, entertaining, spending time at the family’s cabin on the Shuswap, and could always be found watching her favorite sports live or on tv.

She is survived by her sister Mary, and brother Cliff (Donna); her children, Jim (Merle), Jeanne (Laurence), Stan (Kathleen), and Laurie (Mike); grandchildren, Christy (Al), Dan (Elly), Jason, Rya, Monique (Matt), and Chantal; and great-grandchildren, Peyton and Jaxon. Marge was predeceased by her husband George, son David, parents Marianne and Frank Hawkey, brothers France and Clary (Kitty), and brother-in-law Norman.
