Obituary of Peter Harold Dyck
February 18, 1929 – Saskatoon, Saskatchewan
July 17, 2022 – Calgary, Alberta
Peter Harold Dyck of Calgary, AB, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 17, 2022, at the age of 93 years.
Peter was born in Saskatoon, SK on February 18, 1929, to Peter Wilhelm and Helena Epp. He married his beloved wife Laura (Loreen) Enns on October 27, 1951, and they enjoyed over seventy glorious years of marriage together. Peter’s strong integrity was evident in all that he did. In early years, he worked as a grain elevator agent, then moved on and worked in the construction and insurance industries for most of his life. Peter was a proud business owner of Boulder Insurance Services Ltd. and long-time member of First Mennonite Church in Calgary where he served as a Deacon. He was also a dedicated volunteer at MCC over the duration of his life and a refugee sponsor.
Besides his loving wife Laura, Peter is survived by his children, Patricia Carmen (Marty Rempel), James Peter Dyck, Laurena Kathryn and Mauricio Morenos; and grandchildren, Karleen and Jeremy Rempel, and Dwayne Curtis and Keith Cameron Contant. He was also survived by his siblings, Walter (Coralee) Dyck, and Irma Dyck; predeceased by his sisters Helena Dyck Coop, and Sadie Dyck Janzen. Peter will be sadly missed by many.
Graveside Service will be held at Mountain View Cemetery (1605 100 St SE, Calgary) on Thursday, July 28, 2022 at 12:00 p.m. and the Funeral Services will follow at the Calgary First Mennonite Church (2600 Richmond Rd SW, Calgary) at 1:30 p.m. Condolences, memories, and photos may be shared and viewed here.
