Obituary of Joyce Gladys Adams

September 1, 1943 – Ketchen, Saskatchewan

July 23, 2022 - Calgary, Alberta

Joyce Adams passed away on Saturday, July 23, 2022, at the age of 78 years. She was predeceased by her husband of 58 years, Willis.

Joyce will be dearly missed by her children, Lance, Loveval, Tammy (Steve); grandchildren, Tiara (John), Jewel, Devin, Serenity (Jacob), and TJ; her two brothers, Alex (Marlene) and Victor; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by her parents, Olga and Frank Kapiniak; three sisters, Pauline, Anne, and Victoria; and two brothers, Joseph and Samuel.

Being born and raised on a farm in Saskatchewan, she developed a love for the prairies.  However, in the '60s, she ventured on her own by taking a job in Calgary, where she met her bigger love, her sweetheart, Willis, and started their family.  Joyce worked as a Service Aid at the General Hospital for years, and then became an entrepreneur by running her own day home until she retired.

Joyce was most happy when planning and entertaining at gatherings surrounded by the people she loved. She took great pride in her unique ability to make people laugh.  Enjoying a good laugh herself with a huge, contagious smile, which she shared until the end.  Joyce had the gift of making everyone feel special and grew a personal connection with everyone she met.

Joyce leaves us with beautiful memories.  Her love will guide us and although we cannot see her, we will feel that she is still with us.

Funeral Services will be held at Calgary Central Seventh-day Adventist Church (1920 13 Ave NW, Calgary, AB) on Friday, August 5, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. Reception to follow in the Hospitality Centre at church.
