Condolences
Don and family,
I am so sorry for your loss. Joan was a very special lady and a close friend to my parents Bill and Jean Burgess. Joan was so thoughtful and caring, touching so many lives.
May you find some comfort in knowing that she played such an important role in gifting the love of reading to so many students at Lake Bonavista Elementary school.
Our thoughts are with you. May you find comfort in the many memories that will stay in your hearts forever.

Hi Jeff my Sincere Condolences to You and Your Family on the Passing of Your Mother Terence
Don and Family,
Yesterday, August 6, 2022, my family and I along with his many friends, celebrated the Life of my husband Al Craig who passed away on May 29, 2022. My heart is even heavier today after reading of the death of Joan. Going through old photos from Al's young years there were many of you and him together. I also came across a Christmas card with a photograph of you Don, Joan, and your children Jeff and Susan, also at a very young age.
My heart goes out to you as I too know the pain of losing a partner after a long and loving marriage.
Hugs to all the family
Bev. Craig
Sending our love and prayers. Auntie Joan was a wonderful person and we were all blessed to have her in our lives.
Love Don, Judy and family.
Joan's dedication to the kids at Lake Bonavista school was amazing. She put so much work into making sure the library was always a beautiful and fun place to be, and instilled an incredible appreciation for reading in the students. She was so kind to me and I feel very lucky to have gotten to know her.
I miss the warm viensesse coffee smell of your home, I wish she could have met my little girls. Joan was my summer gramma, I was so lucky to have you as an aunty! I love you and miss you so much Aunty Joan.
Joan and I worked together for the twenty years I taught at Lake Bonavista Elementary. I have many fond memories of her and remember that the quickest way to coax a smile from Joan was to ask about her family and especially her grandchildren. Besides being a devoted wife,Mother and Grandmother, Joan loved children. She was always on the lookout for new books to obtain for the library with the goal of “hooking” children into becoming life-long readers. I am very sorry for your loss and hope you find comfort in knowing that she positively impacted many young students.
Uncle Don, Sue, Jeff and families,
Thinking of you all and sending love. Aunty Joan was very special and we will always remember her in our hearts.
Our sincere condolences.
Love, Brian and Judy
Don and family. I was very sad to read of Joan's passing. I worked at Lake Bonavista Elementary for a brief time, and I used to have lunch with Joan. I sure enjoyed our conversations. The library she operated was immaculate and I could tell she did an excellent job as librarian. My condolences to you all, Joan was a great lady.
Don,
Ellen and I send our condolences to you and your family.
In the years I worked with Joan, I admired her professionalism and the manner in which she worked with the students. It was very evident that she cared about the children. She was a definite asset to our staff.
I enjoyed our discussions and stories that she and I shared about our families.
She will be missed.
Larry
