Obituary of Elsie May Reid

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Elsie Reid of Calgary, AB on Saturday, August 6, 2022, at the age of 93 years.

She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Dennis, Dean and Denise (George); her grandchildren, Benn, Kayla (Jeremy) and Sandra (Paul); and great-grandchildren, Jack, Ella, and Briar. She will also be missed by her siblings, Harold (Hilda), June, Lorna (Norm) and Brad. Elsie was predeceased by her husband Jim in 2017.

Elsie's family was a very important part of her life, and she was very proud of being part of five generations of born and raised Calgarians. She was involved in several bowling leagues including being a coach for Youth Bowling for many years. Elsie loved people and her career as a bank teller was a perfect fit, allowing her to meet and get to know the people in her community. Going for a walk anywhere inevitably meant stopping and talking with customers she knew from the bank.

Elsie also enjoyed camping with family and friends. She had a good sense of humour and would often surprise everyone with one-liners out of nowhere.

As per Elsie's request there will not be a funeral service. Condolences, memories, and photos can also be shared and viewed here.
