Obituary of Bogumil Jan Hoffman
November 11, 1934 – Czestochowa, Poland
August 13, 2022 – Calgary, Alberta
Bogumil Hoffman, of Calgary, AB, passed away on Saturday, August 13, 2022, at the age of 87 years.
Bogumil was born in Czestochowa, Poland on November 11, 1934. He finished Mining Technology School and began to work in the Mining Companies in Poland and India. Bogumil immigrated with his family to Greece, where he spent three years. Then after leaving Greece, Bogumil would travel to Canada in the 1990’s. He was joyous to begin a new chapter with his family in an exciting and prosperous country. Bogumil worked as a carpenter, and renovated numerous homes into masterpieces in Calgary, AB. Bogumil embraced and enjoyed gardening, fishing, and camping in his free time. Bogumil will be most remembered for his incredible sense of humor, and his enjoyable laughter. He will be most remembered for being a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend to many.
Besides his loving wife Janina, Bogumil is survived by his children, Beata Urbanczyk, and Małgorzata Hoffman, son-in-law Arkadiusz Zub; and grandchildren, Michael Urbanczyk, Sebastian Zub, Konrad Zub, and Maya Zub; as well as numerous friends. Bogumil was predeceased by his mother Janina, and father Tadeusz.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady Queen of Peace Polish Catholic Church (2111 Uxbridge Drive N.W., Calgary, AB) on Friday, August 19, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. Graveside Service to follow at Queen’s Park Cemetery. Condolences, memories, and photos can also be shared and viewed here.
