Obituary of Kathleen Joyce Severson

March 22, 1945 – Vancouver, British Columbia
August 14, 2022 – Calgary, Alberta

Kathy Severson (nee Carruthers), beloved wife of Bill Severson of Calgary, AB passed away on Sunday, August 14, 2022 at the age of 77 years.

Besides her loving husband, Kathy is survived by her four children, Kristina Stuart (Sutherland) (Cam), Kevin Sutherland (Vicky), Kraig Severson (Natasha) and Kyle Severson (Corinne); and her nine grandchildren, Briana, Ben, Samantha, Addie, Kolby, Josef, Audrey, Avery and Kennedy. Kathy is also survived by her three siblings, Norman Carruthers (Aliesje), Barbara Henderson (Thomas) and John Carruthers (Theresa); as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Kathy was predeceased by her sister, Anne Brown (Greg).

Kathy will be remembered for her sewing and her crafts most specifically for her life like Santa Clauses, bears and dolls. Kathy was a long-time member of the Glencoe Club and in her younger years loved curling and bowling. The bowling league she participated in was where she met the love of her life, Bill. Kathy and Bill both loved to spend time at their cabin in Windermere, B.C. with family and friends. Kathy’s legacy lives on through her many years spent contributing and supporting the community through her work with the Samaritan Club of Calgary.
