Obituary of Anthony Hiendl

August 29, 1960 – Hamilton, Ontario

August 20, 2022 – Calgary, Alberta

It is with deep sorrow that after a courageous battle with cancer we announce Tony Hiendl, beloved husband, father, son, brother, and friend passed away surrounded by his girls on Saturday August 20, 2022, at the age of 61 in Calgary, AB.

Mourning his passing is his beloved wife of 32 years Kelly, cherished daughters, Jill and Lindsay, adored son-in-law Sean, and the family cat Milo. He is survived by his loving father Tony Sr., sister Susan, and his two wonderful sisters-in-law, Barb and Diane. He was predeceased by his mother Angela, his mother-in-law Muriel, and his brother-in-law Bert.

Tony’s strength and integrity were the foundation of the family, and for this we are truly grateful. We are devastated by his passing.

In 1980, Tony received his diploma as a Construction Engineering Technician from Mohawk College. He then moved from his birthplace of Hamilton, ON to Calgary with $800 in his pocket, and he would never let you forget this. After a successful 42 years in sales management, Tony had recently retired and was looking forward to enjoying time with his wife. He planned to travel and learn to fly fish.

Tony’s true joy were his two daughters. He was always quick to pull out his phone to show photos of them and tell you how proud he was. He provided a wonderful life for his family and took pride in being both a loving father and husband.

As an avid golfer, Tony enjoyed having the earliest tee time with his buddies and had recently started volunteering at the golf course. Although Tony accomplished so much in his professional and personal life, he was extremely proud of his hole-in-one.

He enjoyed a good glass of red wine alongside conversation with friends. Tony will always be remembered for the love of his girls and a smile that could light up a room.

Tony will be dearly missed.

A Celebration of Tony’s Life will be held on Tuesday, September 6, 2022, 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at The Lake House, 747 Lake Bonavista Dr SE, Calgary, AB.
