Condolences
Mom, I remember when I took you to the Bahamas with me for a fun little vacation. We rode horseback on the beach and ate fresh coconut and I ended up with horrible allergies after. Our funniest time was when we rented a scooter to tour the island and half way through our journey the horn would just go off randomly and I would be so embarrassed especially as we got into more populated areas. There you you were on the back waving and laughing. What an adventure we had! You were always willing to try new things and you worked so hard to make everything so nice for us. I miss you Mom!
Love Karen
I remember being so excited to learn Bridge from grandma when she deemed I was old enough to keep up with the game. It was complicated, but she was patient and I loved to play with her. She was smart and witty, loving and kind, and always paid attention to the details. I hope to be just like her.
Beatrice rests fondly in my heart and mind. My first visit to Montreal in my youth was made better (and likely possible) staying with Great Aunt Beatrice and Great Uncle Arthur.
Monica and I were welcomed so warmly at their home. After hitting the shops and sights Great Aunt Beatrice had a lovely dinner and expressed such joy and interest in all our finds. They even treated us to the river jet boating ride which was wild and a highlight of my trip. Feel so blessed to have had this special time with Great Aunt Beatrice. May she Rest In Peace and may you all feel some comfort in knowing she’s now reunited with Great Uncle Arthur.
Wish we could be there with you…will see you and celebrate her life with you online.
With deep condolences, Barb Rodezno and family (Toronto, ON)
I have fond memories of heading out east with my mom (Carole) visiting Aunty Beatrice (and Uncle Arthur) in Montreal, as a flower girl in Karen and Chris’s wedding; we spent time in Magog at the lake house where as a pre teen a fabulous place to hang out but I turned out to be terrible on the water ski’s. Peter touring us around going for smoke meat after the 2 am plane ride and getting our fortune read in old Montreal and translated by you Peter. No matter the day Aunty Beatrice was always smiling, laughing and enjoying the moments this beautiful life had to offer. I remember Karens wedding cake being decorated by the neighbor at the kitchen table in Montreal in preparation and Aunty Beatrice busy cooking and buzzing around getting everything in order.
In 2008 I was fortunate to visit their Calgary home for the first time with my partner Reg where he was able to meet the sisters and their husbands (Beatrice (Arthur), Rona(George) and Carole (Gary)). They were a hoot, those three french canadian ladies all talking, reminiscing at the same time, they had such fun visiting each other.
My mother is hoping to join this live stream tomorrow, sending her love to all her relations and remembering her sister so fondly as Aunty Beatrice and Aunty Rona practically raised her with their 9+ years of age difference, the sisters would wheel her around in her buggy when she was a baby. They took her everywhere, even on their dates (which was certainly not a favourite!) They bought her ice cream sundaes at the local soda shop to try and fatten up their scrawny sister.
Any physical pain Beatrice was in was not doted on, she always made the best of the situation and was so happy to see you, constant love…. A truly beautiful soul. We grieve with you and celebrate the life of a truly beautiful soul, with our love to you all.
