Obituary of Beatrice Emma Etheline Klimes

Beatrice Emma Etheline Klimes (Bonnell), beloved wife of the late Arthur Stephen Klimes of Calgary, AB, passed away on Monday, August 22, 2022 at the age of 93 years

Beatrice was born in Montreal Quebec, on May 12, 1929.  After her schooling, she worked as a legal assistant, proficient in shorthand. Beatrice married Arthur Klimes on January 24th, 1953, and they went on to have 3 children.

Hers was a life of service; she served on PTA’s when her children were in school, helping with ballet productions and other theatrical events. She volunteered at hospitals and the Association for the Blind.  She was a Girl Scout leader and was a long-time member of the Notre Dame de Grace Ladies Club including being president from 1981-1982. She also served in the women’s organization in her church for many years, and taught the children there into her 70’s.

Beatrice was particularly proud of her large family.  She was a proficient seamstress, gardener and cook.  She enjoyed making beautiful, beaded flower arrangements, reading, making puzzles, playing bridge, and traveling.  She will be most remembered for her happy smile, cheerful countenance, and her desire to serve others.

Beatrice is survived by her 3 children, Peter, Karen (Dumouchel) of Utah and Diana; her 11 grandchildren and 31 great grandchildren.  She is also survived by her sisters Rona (Greene) of New Brunswick, and Carole (Conway) of British Columbia.

A funeral service will be held at McInnis & Holloway Funeral Home (Fish Creek Location, 14441 Bannister Road SE, Calgary, AB) on Saturday, September 3, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. Reception to follow in the Hospitality Centre at the Funeral Home.
