Obituary of Richard Lee Johnson
February 6, 1945 – Portland, Oregon, USA
September 5, 2022 – Calgary, Alberta, Canada
Richard loved being an entrepreneur, artist, and master woodworker. His favourite quote was “The answer is 42”.
Richard’s interests included hiking, rock climbing, and being an amateur geologist. He will be most remembered for his intellectual curiosity, passion for the outdoors, and creating original pieces from furniture to sculptures.
Besides his loving wife of 47 years, Richard is survived by his daughter, Alyanora (Ali) Johnson; son, Aragorn Johnson, and his partner Marie-Claude; as well as his three grandchildren, Brittany Lee Rose, Adelaide Galadriel and Madeleine Luthien. Richard is also survived by his sister, Judy Johnson and partner Greg.
Richard was predeceased by his parents, Bob and Lorraine Johnson.
Richard was proud of becoming a Canadian citizen, and in lieu of flowers and donations would encourage everyone, if possible, to travel and explore this country he loved.
There will be no public service held.
