Obituary of Darilyn Diane Cowper

It is with profound sadness that the family of Darilyn Cowper announces her peaceful passing on Saturday, September 17, 2022, in Calgary, AB, at the age of 75 years.
Darilyn was born on May 4, 1947, in Port Arthur, ON, to Gen and Isobel Flank. She and Art married in 1970 and in the fall of 1973 settled into what would be the family home of 49 years. Darilyn was known for her dedication as an administrative secretary with the Calgary Board of Education in a career that spanned 36 years, her zeal for gardening, her love of the outdoors, and summers spent with family at the camp in Ontario. She enjoyed traveling, reading, sewing, baking cookies, and forging life-long friendships with so many. Her door was always open for a cup of tea, and she never hesitated to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Darilyn’s family meant everything to her, especially her granddaughters. She was a devoted mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, and friend. To Darilyn, friends were family, with whom she loved spending time and making lasting memories. Darilyn was an extraordinarily kind and strong woman who will be deeply missed by her family.
Darilyn is lovingly remembered by her two sons, Corey (Alisa) and Craig (Young-ju); and her four granddaughters, Tiana, Teleah, Marisa, and Jordyn. Darilyn will be dearly missed by her sister Sandy, brothers Jon (Mary Jane) and Jim (Freda); sister-in-law Jeanne, nieces Jennifer, Maureen, Lori, Christina (Dan), Lesley (Rob) and Mallory; nephews Randy and Darryl (Josslyn); and numerous others in her extended family, as well as a host of friends in the community. Darilyn was predeceased by her loving husband Art in 2007.
