Obituary of Gerald Thomas Smith

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Gerald “Jerry” Thomas Smith on Friday, September 23, 2022 at the age of 84 years. He passed away peacefully and leave to mourn him his caring wife Patricia, sister-in-law Alfreda, as well as many nieces and nephews, cousins, colleagues, and friends.

Jerry served over thirty years with the CBE as a well-respected teacher, administrator, and consultant. He loved his work with young people, especially when he could take them on field trips. He finished his career serving as an interim principal at Chinook Winds Adventist Academy.

Jerry faithfully served his church as an elder, board member, and was very active in the Senior’s Ministry. His sense of humour and fun injected joy into the lives of others. His interests included travelling, golfing, photography, making puzzles, biking, hiking, and gardening. He will be missed by everyone whose life he touched.

A Viewing will be held at Calgary Central SDA Church (1920 13 Ave NW, Calgary, AB) on Wednesday, October 5, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. Funeral Services to follow at 11:00 a.m., with Reception at the Church.
