FEICK, Marion Ivy (nee Scarbro)

May 4, 1946 - Timmins, Ontario

September 23, 2022 - Calgary, Alberta

 

Marion (Marnie) Ivy Feick, born May 4, 1946 in Timmins, ON, passed away on Friday, September 23, 2022 at the Dr. Vernon Fanning Centre in Calgary, AB, after a long run in with ALS at the age of 76 years.

 

Born in Timmins, ON, she lived in many places including Barrie, Sudbury, Orillia, and Hamilton, as well as Grande Prairie, AB and then Calgary, AB, for her final years to be close to her sons and grandchildren during the final stages of ALS

 

She had three children with Robert Feick. Later she worked in the accounting department of a Ford dealership in Hamilton. She enjoyed dancing, hiking, painting, flowers, and her garden on the rooftop at the Fanning Centre.

 

After her diagnosis with ALS, she was part of the ALS group in Hamilton, ON, and participated in many ALS activities including writing a song that is posted on YouTube.

 

Marnie or Nana was strong willed, feisty, caring, and loving. She enjoyed travelling, often going to Florida to visit her daughter, Cathy, and the grandchildren. A big trip to Maui with Wes’s family in 2013 was a highlight of her travels.

 

Marion is survived by her one daughter, Catherine Davis of Hamilton, ON; two sons, Troy (Nancy) Feick of Wheatland County, AB, and Wesley (Dianne) Feick of Lyalta, AB; and twelve grandchildren, Tyler, Taylor, Alex, Anthony, Adam, Cooper, Destini, Faith, Kyle, Nathon, Ashley, and Mitchell.

 

Marion is also survived by her siblings, Alice-Ann (Merv) Connor and Teddy Scarborough.

 

Marion was predeceased by her siblings, Mickey, Danny, Georgina, Kay, and Dougy; and her parents, George and Onita Scarborough.

 

Thank you to everyone at the Dr. Vernon Fanning Centre where she has called home since November 2019.
