Obituary of Peter John MacIntyre
November 26, 1963 – Lachine, Quebec
September 24, 2022 - Calgary, Alberta
Peter John MacIntyre passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 24, 2022, surrounded by family and friends, at the age of 58. A strong and generous man, Peter loved and valued those close to him above all else and was well-loved in return. A wonderful and cherished brother, son, nephew, cousin, special uncle, neighbour, and friend, he will be forever missed.
An avid golfer, skier, photographer, and motorcyclist, Peter lived life to the fullest. A member of Willow Park Golf and Country Club for over 40 years, Peter scored his fifth hole-in-one on the 12th hole this past June. He looked forward each year to opening day at Lake Louise, to hit the slopes and have a few drinks with his best friends. Every summer, he loved to hit the open road on his Harley with his buddies.
For more than 15 years, Peter coached minor hockey, the Flickers, and the Devils. He cared greatly for his community and the kids he coached, and it showed in everything he did. He was strongly involved in the Willow Park Charity Classic, serving on their committee for years, and was instrumental in raising thousands of dollars for the charities they support.
Peter had a long and successful career in banking, starting with Royal Bank and BMO. He finally found his home at ATB, working together with his amazing team, coworkers, and clients, building his second family.
Peter was predeceased by his parents, Hugh John and Geraldine, and leaves to mourn his loving sister and best friend Louise, his aunts, uncles, and cousins, and his many dear friends, whom he considered family.
A Celebration of Peter’s Life will be held at Willow Park Golf and Country Club (639 Willow Park Dr SE, Calgary, AB) on Thursday, October 6, 2022, between 2:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. Condolences, memories, and photos can also be shared and viewed here.
