Obituary of Albert Alexander Orosz

March 25, 1942 - Wayne, Alberta

September 25, 2022 - Calgary, Alberta

Albert Orosz, beloved husband of Patricia (Pat) Williams-Orosz (nee Taylor) of Airdrie, AB, passed away on Sunday, September 25, 2022, at the age of 80 years.

Albert was born in Wayne, AB, on March 25, 1942. He moved to Calgary, AB, in 1970 to attend S.A.I.T. after working for Saskatchewan Potash for nine years.

Albert graduated with a degree in Business Administration. His first job after graduating was with Scotiabank until he joined Pacific 66, followed by NGL, and then Novacor Chemicals.  When the Chemical Division was sold, Al was transferred to Vancouver with the new company, Methanex, and then back to Medicine Hat, AB, where he finished his career. Albert met Pat at the Scotiabank where she worked, shortly after she was widowed.  They married on October 7, 1989.

He was a member of the Transportation Club in Calgary, as well as the Royal Canadian Legion. Albert accomplished much throughout his life and was particularly proud of the family he joined.

Albert had a passion for cars of the Fifties, buying Collectible Automobile magazines, and going to car shows.  He also loved camping, traveling, going on cruises, and watching baseball; the Chicago Cubs were his team.

One of Albert’s most memorable vacations was when we went to Budapest, Hungary in 2013, and we went to the village where his father was born.  We even met his cousin who had worked at the Town Hall.  He also enjoyed several other vacations with his family. He will be most remembered for his friendly manner and general love of people.

Besides his loving wife Pat, Albert is survived by his step-daughter, Elisabeth Ann Schmidt (Ross) of Blackfalds, AB, step-son, Edward Reece Williams of Canmore, AB, his eight grandchildren Ashley Marr (Brenden) of Chestermere, AB, Brittany Davis (Brendon) of Parkland County, AB, Cayley Fugal, of Red Deer, AB, Aaron Fugal of West Jordan, Utah, Eric Fugal of West Jordon, Utah, Marin Williams of Canmore, AB, Shallis Williams of Texas, USA, Bryn Alexandra Williams of Canmore, AB; and two great-grandsons, Renley William Davis and Lochlan Alexander Davis of Parkland County, AB. Albert is also survived by his brother, Alfred Joseph Orosz (Judy) of Drumheller, AB, two sisters-in-law, Marion Holman (Jim) of Hanna, AB, and Judy Taylor of Moose Jaw, SK; brother-in-law John Taylor (Caroline), as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
