Obituary of Laszlo Domotor

Laszlo “Les” Domotor of Calgary, AB, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, September 26, 2022 at the age of 86 years.

He immigrated to Canada in 1956 as part of the Hungarian Revolution. He landed in Gander, Newfoundland; he travelled across Canada to Abbotsford, BC, eventually arriving in Osoyoos, BC before finally settling in Calgary. Les was a machinist and worked with CP Rail for his entire career. Les and Margie were married for 51 years. Throughout their married life, they travelled extensively. Two of their favourite spots were Radium and Puerto Vallarta. Les had a quick wit and was known for his sense of humour and sometimes unmentionable quotes.

Les is survived by his brother-in-law Glen; his sister-in-law Margit; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Les was predeceased by his wife Margie; father Sandor; mother Terezia; and two brothers, Lajos and Sandor Jr.

Funeral Services will be held at McInnis & Holloway (Heritage, 1708, 16th Avenue N, across from the North Hill Shopping Centre, Calgary, AB) on Friday, October 14, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. Reception to follow in the Hospitality Centre at the Funeral Home. Graveside Service to follow at Queen’s Park Mausoleum. Family and friends who are unable to attend in person are invited to join Les’ service streamed live on the day of the service here. For those who are unable to view live, a recording of the service will be posted. Condolences, memories, and photos may also be shared and viewed there.
